PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Three children were injured on Monday after a vehicle crashed through the doors of a church.
The incident happened in North Philadelphia around 1 p.m. when an 83-year-old woman accidentally stepped on the gas and barreled through the glass doors of the Deliverance Church at Lehigh Avenue and N 21st Street.
Three juveniles suffered minor injuries and were transported to St. Christopher’s Hospital. A 5-year-old female was had an injured foot, a 4-year-old female suffered cuts on her face and another 5-year-old girl was knocked to the ground during the incident.
The 83-year-old driver was transported to Temple University Hospital. Her condition is unknown.
An investigation is underway.
