PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A man was rushed to the hospital after being shot while opening an auto repair shop in Philadelphia early Tuesday morning.
The shooting happened at about 5:30 a.m. in the 4300 block of Broad Street in the city’s Nicetown section.
According to investigators, a 62-year-old man was opening a Midas muffler shop when a suspect walked into the store and shot the victim. The unidentified victim was taken to Temple University Hospital where he is listed in stable condition with a gunshot wound to his leg.
After the shooting, the suspect ran away from the scene. It was not immediately known if anything was taken, but investigators believe the motive for the shooting was robbery.
So far, no arrests have been made. The investigation is ongoing.
