PIPERSVILLE, Pa. (AP) — A rock climber is recovering from broken bones and other injuries after police say he fell about 60 feet at a state park in eastern Pennsylvania.
Bucks County park rangers have yet to release the name of the man who fell from a rock face in Ralph Stover State Park in Pipersville on Sunday. That’s about 40 miles north of Philadelphia.
Different emergency responders listed the man’s age as either 55 or 59, but all agree he was rappelling down some rocks when he fell about 12:30 p.m.
Point Pleasance Fire Co. Chief Scott Fleischer says it took several hours to get the man off the area known as High Rocks.
The man was airlifted to Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia suffering from multiple fractures and other injuries. His condition was not immediately known.
