PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A man was taken to the hospital after being shot by a Philadelphia cop early Tuesday morning.
The incident happened at 6th Street and Glenwood Avenue in North Philadelphia.
Police have not released many details, but a source tells CBS Philly that officers approached a man on the sidewalk who was reportedly acting suspiciously. At some point during the interaction, an officer was forced to open fire on the suspect.
The suspect was taken to Temple University Hospital to undergo surgery for a gunshot wound to his stomach.
There were no reports of injuries to officers.
Sources say police did not recover a weapon, only a set of keys.
The incident remains under police investigation.
